Our Corru-Fit™ system is manufactured for those old metal buildings and other structures with corrugated roofs that date back to the 1940’s. These older roofs were typically finished with a galvanized coating that has not withstood the elements. Most being retrofitted today, display their rusted steel substrate. Corru-Fit’s structurally correct design utilizes a nominal 1-1/4” tall spacer that is placed in the low corrugation, spaced at intervals required to satisfy new adopted building code wind uplift. The spacer accommodates a corrugated panel’s notorious inconsistent spacing and allows for attachment directly to the existing purlins with special stand-off fasteners that maintain spacer depth. The top zee-shaped purlin’s base flange is also slotted to accommodate this inconsistency. The purlin’s web height can be manufactured to permit varying thicknesses of insulation to be installed between the old and new roofs, but the standard height is 1-1/2” making the overall assembly 2-3/4”.
